AFLCA's Practitioners' Functional Independence Training Program: Leading Older Adults through ExerciseThis certification of completion course is for leaders and practitioners leading older adult exercise programs within the community or seniors’ facilities. This course will provide you with hands-on learning. Course content includes:
• General guidelines for practical, safe, and appropriate movements, • equipment recommendations, • endurance, strengthening, flexibility, and balance activities, • fall prevention strategies, • and, general safety considerations for Older Adult Physical Activity Programs The adaptable functional exercises are designed to enhance your current programming. This course will complement your AFLCA Ever Active Adults and/or AFLCA Fitness For the Older Adult certifications, and will serve as an AFLCA recertification course.
