Yoga Therapy

What is virtual yoga therapy
(or private online yoga therapy)?

You and Lisa will meet via Zoom video conference (a FREE app) for your private therapeutic yoga session(s).
Picture
It all begins with getting to know you so Lisa can not only teach, but also support you on your healing journey while you uncover your own capacity for movement. Together she combines her experience, and her passion for health and exercise, with a warm attitude to welcome you to a calming and inviting environment for each session.

These sessions are suitable for all skill levels and abilities, so don’t hesitate to contact Lisa!

Lisa has over two decades of practical experience helping others to overcome pain or discomfort through exercise and physical activity. So Lisa knows yoga’s full potential beyond improving flexibility. Yoga therapy with an accredited instructor can still show you the full potential of your body’s movements and just how flexible those movements can be. Her approach focuses on keeping movements simple so you can find a comfortable state of ease for your body.
She will teach you different ways to find balance through yoga. This includes through proper breathwork, and how to balance your breathing with your movement while integrating biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, with the teachings and philosophies of yoga.
It is a way to disconnect from life’s distractions, relax, and find your breath; all things you can do within the comfort of your own home or chosen space, along with the guidance of a Yoga Alliance 300 Registered Teacher (Lisa!).
Lisa’s therapeutic yoga sessions can be tailored to suit your needs and to best help with your main areas of concern. She will help make your yoga consultation and yoga therapy program your own with a full assessment of where you are in your healing journey.

Meet your Instructor

Lisa Workman

Hello!

I am excited to help you along or get you started on your healing journey.

In addition to yoga instruction, I work as a clinical exercise physiologist and medical fitness consultant. My work shows me numerous ways every day in which movement and physical activity can help us. I believe movement to be an important tool we can use when dealing with the pains or discomfort caused by illness, disease, or injury. I also see yoga therapy as part of this toolbox. This is why I am thrilled to now offer one-on-one Zoom yoga therapy (private online yoga sessions).

I earned my 300-hour Yoga Alliance certification eager to use other forms of physical activity to help others reach their own goals- whether those goals are to heal, to become more flexible, to improve our breathwork, or all of the above!

Our sessions together will help you gain a better understanding of your body’s capacity for movement through my attentive, thoughtful, medical, and research-based approach to yoga therapy and teaching. Yoga is all about balance, so I combine my scientific and research-based approach with traditional yoga practices and teachings.

Her approach to yoga helps you to:
  • Bring awareness to your capabilities.
  • Bring awareness to your capacity for movement, and to your capacity for complex movement.
  • Bring awareness to your breathing.
  • Bring awareness to your body overall.
